Cisco DCUCD – Designing Cisco Data Center Unified Computing

In this course you will learn how to choose and design scalable, reliable and intelligent data center unified computing and virtualization solutions. These solutions are based on the Cisco data center product portfolio with a Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) as a centerpiece integrated with contemporary server virtualization solutions such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V R2 and Citrix for Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure and operating systems like Microsoft Windows and Linux.

  • Propose a solution management design for a given environment
  • Evaluate and design Cisco UCS solution for LAN, SAN, and Virtual Access layer connectivity
  • Recognize and design Cisco UCS server deployments
  • Identify a Cisco UCS solution for Unified Communications and a Hadoop distributed computing application with specific UCS components to fit their application needs
  • Configure Cisco UCS B-Series blade servers with Cisco UCS Manager v2.0
  • Configure Cisco UCS C-Series blade servers with Cisco
  • Integrated Management Controller (IMC) Implement service profiles and blade configuration for Microsoft Hyper-V 2008 and 2012, VMware ESXi v4.1, v5.0, 5.1 and v5.5
  • Configure Cisco UCS v2.2(1d) Manager and vSphere integration for pass-thru switching (PTS)
Prerequisites

Prerequisite

Students need to have:

  • CCNA Data Center certification
  • Knowledge of Cisco Nexus product
  • Knowledge of Cisco MDS product
  • Knowledge of server and desktop virtualization (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware View, and Citrix XenDesktop)
  • Operating system administration familiarity (Linux and Windows)
